Day 10: Wainscoting!

Day  10 of 365 Days of a Happy Home!

If you want to add some interest to a room, consider to add wainscoting. It is a relatively easy way to add detail to your home without a full gut renovation. Here are some things we have done for our clients. Which is your favorite?

In this basement we added a 36”h chair molding with beadboard accent and painted it with Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal. Then added pops of orange in the bookcases to pick up the orange in the Prestige Mills carpet.

This mudroom for an active, outdoorsy family is complimented by the wood paneled wainscot. We’ve added hooks for hanging gear and a chalkboard to keep the household on track!

This tiny powder room feels bigger with the horizontal v groove paneling. The cow decals add a touch of whimsy!

In this basement renovation we broke up the long expanse of wall with a vertical v groove painted Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan. We think it pairs nicely with the Benjamin Moore Chantily Lace walls.

This image doesn’t do this room justice. The walls are a pale celadon and the paneled wainscoting is eggplant.

We have shared this dining room before. We are sharing again because we love it! The wood panels terminate in a plate rail painted the trim color. The walls are Woodlawn Blue, trim is Snowfall White and ceiling is Constellation, all from Benjamin Moore.
