Day 22: East Meets West (in the bedroom)!

Day 22 of 365 Days of a Happy Home!

I have been researching bamboo headboards for a client. What I found runs the gambit from frumpy to traditional to wild! During the 20th century, bamboo furniture had a resurgence in popularity. Many pieces can be found in vintage marketplaces like 1st Dibs, Palm Beach Regency and Chairish. And a number of companies are making them now in finishes to suit almost any decor. The Chinese never imagined this when they began making bamboo furniture during the Ming Dynasty.

How wild would you go?

Kenian Furniture is one of my favorite sources for bamboo and rattan furniture. This Chinese Chippendale headboard is finished with an Antique Tortoise look.

Another vintage look.

This is a painted spool technique made to look like bamboo.

These are 2 twin Indochine headboards from Red Egg Furniture. I love this vendor! They offer laquer finishes and will color match any Sherwin Williams or Ben Moore paint colors

Beautiful turquoise headboard!

These pink beauties are available at Chairish.com

This is the Palm Springs headboard in Hibiscus Pink from David Francis Furniture!

The Ohana headboard in Azul is also from David Francis Furniture. It comes in over 20 finishes, each one is beautiful!
