Day 97: Built in Cabinetry!

Day 97 of 365 Days of a Happy Home!

Do you have a wall or an empty nook that could be transformed into usable space?  Think book shelves, wet bar, window seat, day bed.  Check out what we have come up with for improving on an empty space...

This built in wet bar has lots of storage. Another plus is the mirrored back wall. It helps reflect light in the space.

Built ins at this seasonal guest house house the TV, provide storage and a place to display books and family photos.

Here is a built in day bed with drawers beneath for storage. Shelves at the end of the bed have an outlet to charge electronic devices.

Another built in daybed. The drawer beneath holds another twin mattress. This is in a pool house. Side cabinetry holds a beverage fridge on one side and games on the other.

Open shelves hold books and memorabilia.

These built ins fill up this wall. The ends are a mirror image. Lots of storage here. Plus decorative bead board and recessed can lighting.

Built ins surround the sofa.

Classic built in book shelves have contrasting painted backs.

These built ins were constructed with this love seat in mind. Library sconces mounted above the love seat help illuminate the area for reading.

A classic cape usually has two or more dormers in the front. A window seat built into the dormer offers a place to perch, but also storage.
