DAY 13: BackSplash!

Day 13 of 365 Days of a Happy Home!

Our last post was on countertops.  Today we thought you might want to see some backsplash ideas! We like to have fun with this part of a kitchen or bathroom. Check these out. Which is your favorite?

In this kitchen we wanted the blue island to be the star. So the perimeter cabinets are white with a hand molded white subway tile with white grout. We added a stainless steel backsplash behind the cooktop. This makes for easy cleanup of greasy splatter.

If your laundry room has a sink, I stongly suggest you put in a backsplash! Here we used a seaglass looking penny tile. This was a tricky installation as the counter top couldn’t go to the wall on the right because of the window sill. We chose to end the tile at the edge of the counter. It could have gone to the corner of the wall. 6 of one, half dozen of another!

This kitchen is in a guest house. We wanted the countertops top pop on the blue cabinetry so we opted for hand molded white subway tiles with white grout.

In this bar we chose to do a real penny backsplash. These came mesh backed and weren’t too difficult to install. I love how each penny is different. And it accents the walnut countertops.

Here is another bar we did. The backsplash is a stone herringbone mosaic. This also comes mesh backed for ease of installation.

This stone mosaic tile works well with the Taj Mahal countertops.
